Birth Doula Support

As your doula, we work together to release control and fear so your body can do the work it was perfectly designed to perform. No two births are the same so I prioritize ensuring this time is authentically shaped by you, your goals, and your values.

When you decide to bring me onto your birth team as your doula, you will have a passionate advocate who will truly attend to your needs. This means that you can contact me at any point to get the answers to questions, no matter the topic.

As you face this journey head on, our conversations will be candid and my information evidence-based. Our conversations will form the basis of your birth plan - a plan that is person-centered, you-centered, family-centered. I work with diverse families, from single parents to those in partnerships, and will support you whether you opt to welcome your new baby at a hospital, birthing center, or at home with a certified professional midwife.

Aila Birth Village is focused on ensuring your individuality is honored as well as your partner’s wishes. As such, I believe in informed consent and the importance of informed decision-making. What else should you expect with my support?

Detailed Support Plans

It is important that your vision and your preferences as well as that of your partner’s, if applicable, are honored in your birth plan. This is your entry into the next beautiful stage of your lives and it is vital that we work together to ensure your needs are captured in my custom support plans. Aila Birth Village’s support plans are amazing because they emphasize the importance of flexibility! The plan can be changed depending on your needs and circumstances surrounding your birth. Either way, you will be prepared and informed about your options.

Availability

When we agree to work together and you’ve submitted your agreement and payment to secure my services, I make myself available to you to answer any questions and address any concerns.

Partnership

Pregnancy and motherhood can be isolating. My hope is that you feel comfortable confiding in me when you feel excitement, fear, concern, and jubilation…I am there as your doula and pregnancy bestie. When you invest in doula support, our relationship is founded on connection and love. In addition, it is important to me that your partner, if applicable, has ample space to support you emotionally and physically during this vulnerable time. As a doula, I am here to support your family.

Further, my role is to read the birth space, so to speak, to ensure that your partner is able to step in or step back as needed. Sometimes during labor, I will provide suggestions to your partner, but let your partner take the lead. Sometimes, I will take the lead so your partner can rest. And that’s fine. My support is for the family, however it takes shape.

Open Communication

As your doula, my culturally-sensitive and compassionate support is unlimited. This means that our relationship will not be and is not limited to texts, emails, or phone calls. I believe regular and transparent communication is vital to ensuring a relationship grounded in trust and respect. Thus, my doula package is comprehensive whether you are birthing at a hospital, birth center, or your home and whether I attend virtually or in-person.

The comprehensive in-person support package is $1800. You can add-on our photography package for $1000. Sliding scale fees are available upon request - reach out today!
